Jayde's Story

"I became involved in SLS in late 2013 through a friend at Athletics (Meisha) who encouraged me to come along for a surf boat row one September Sunday morning. Next thing I know I was doing my surf bronze (I'd been pool lifeguarding for 4 years at this point) and the rest is history. "

"A couple of highlights of the 2019-20 season for me were winning the open female surf race, open female 2km run and open female champion lifesaver events at the Clifton carnival and having some memorable days on the beach with my patrol group. We were on patrol for the Sunday of the Hydrothon and our club could not have asked for a better weekend to showcase our great club and beach."

"Next season I'm looking forward to spending more time with my patrol group. We got along so well this season and I'm already missing it now the season is done. I'm also looking forward to being able to compete in state titles as unfortunately they were cancelled last month due to Covid 19."

"I love being involved with Clifton Beach SLSC because you get to meet people of all different ages and walks of life and there is a great positive culture amongst the club. I also love swimming and any activity in or around the ocean. Surf lifesaving is a great way to give back to the community whilst also being a great sport to keep fit with."
